Why not enjoy the traditional way of life by travelling in a Jaunting Car from Kate Kearney┬┤s Cottage through the Gap of Dunloe (see photo). Along the way you will be amazed with the magnificent views, while relaxing on a pony and trap. You may also prefer to walk to the Gap of Dunloe from Kate Kearney┬┤s cottage which should take no longer than a couple of hours.

Many tourists enjoy the 7 mile (10km) walk to the Upper Lake at Gearmaheen, which takes you from Kate Kearney’s cottage right through the Gap of Dunloe and on to Killarney’s upper lakes. Ensure to bring a camera along with you as there are many vantage spots along the way which will offer you an opportunity to take some excellent photos. From the Upper Lake you can also take advantage of hopping on the tourist boat which will bring you to straight to Killarney Town.

There are many golf clubs in the local area including the Castlerosse Golf Club, as well as the Killarney Golf Club (see photo), the Beaufort Golf Club and the Dunloe Golf Club.

All of the golf courses enjoy spectacular views and scenery. Most, if not all, of the golf courses in Kerry are open to 9 and 18 hole green fees throughout the tourist season.
Another popular tourist attraction includes Muckross House and Gardens (see photos below). This is a 19th Century Manor surrounded by magnificent and beautiful gardens.

Muckross House is also adjacent to the Killarney Lakes and enjoys spectacular views and scenery, and the many attractions will offer the avid tourist many hours of breathtaking views and tranquil relaxation. Muckross House is now a museum of Kerry folk life and has an excellent crafts centre in its basement. Muckross House is also adjacent to the Killarney Lakes and therefore enjoys spectacular views and scenery.
Ross Castle (See Photo) dates from the 14th century and stands on a peninsula which extends into Lough Leane is one of the finest examples of castle building in Ireland. Ross Castle is only 2km from Killarney Town Centre and is off the main Killarney to Kenmare road. At Ross Castle you are welcome to hire a boat which will allow you to tour the Killarney Lakes and see a number of sights which Killarney has to offer.
